F2: Verschoor stages late comeback to seal victory in Barcelona Sprint Race

Richard Verschoor executed a masterful late-race strategy to claim victory in the Barcelona Sprint Race, navigating through the field in the closing laps. Following a crucial Safety Car intervention, Verschoor made the strategic decision to pit for soft tyres, a move that proved pivotal. He then unleashed a series of impressive overtakes, culminating in a decisive pass on Jak Crawford for the lead on Lap 24 of 26. Verschoor ultimately held off a strong challenge from fellow soft-tyre runner Alexander Dunne, who secured a commendable second place for Rodin Motorsport. Rafael Villagómez completed the podium, earning his maiden Formula 2 top-three finish for Van Amersfoort Racing. Crawford finished fourth, with Victor Martins in fifth. Hard-tyre runners Luke Browning and Leonardo Fornaroli dropped down the order to finish sixth and seventh, respectively. A post-race penalty for Sebastián Montoya saw him fall to P11, promoting Arvid Lindblad to P8. Lindblad is set to start Sunday's Feature Race from pole position.
