WATCH: Verstappen collides with Russell in astounding moment during Spanish GP

Max Verstappen faced a dramatic late-race penalty at the Spanish Grand Prix after a chaotic collision with George Russell. The Dutchman, who was on track for a podium finish, saw his race unravel following a late Safety Car period. Red Bull opted to pit Verstappen for hard tyres, the least preferred compound of the weekend. Upon the restart, a nervy moment allowed Charles Leclerc to snatch third, making contact in the process. Russell then attempted to overtake Verstappen, who ran wide and used the escape road. Despite rejoining ahead, Verstappen was ordered to cede the position to Russell. Amid furious radio exchanges, Verstappen appeared to comply at Turn 5, but the two drivers collided again. This incident resulted in a 10-second time penalty for Verstappen, dropping him to a disappointing P10 at the checkered flag.
