Who are the favourites as F1 moves on to Canada?
Formula 1 shifts to North America for the Canadian Grand Prix, and all eyes are on McLaren, who are fresh off a dominant 1-2 finish in Spain. The papaya squad arrives in Montreal with significant momentum, leading the Constructors' Championship by a substantial 197 points after nine rounds.
Oscar Piastri, who secured his fifth victory of the season in Barcelona and has led the Drivers' Championship since Round 5, is once again the favorite to win in Canada. His teammate Lando Norris is a close second in the odds, trailing Piastri by just 10 points in the championship standings. Despite three consecutive wins in Montreal, Max Verstappen is considered a more distant contender compared to the McLaren duo.
The betting odds also reflect McLaren's strength in securing podium finishes, with both drivers consistently placing in the top three in eight out of nine races. Charles Leclerc, with back-to-back podiums in Monaco and Spain, is also a strong contender for a top-three finish.
Looking at top-six finishes, Lewis Hamilton is expected to continue his recent run of strong performances. Rookie Kimi Antonelli, after a challenging triple-header, will be aiming to rebound and secure a top-six result.
For top-10 finishes, Yuki Tsunoda will be looking to break his recent dry spell, while Williams hopes to improve its standing. Isack Hadjar, who has shown consistent form with recent P9, P6, and P7 finishes, is also favored to score points.
In qualifying, Lando Norris is slightly favored to claim pole position despite Piastri's pole in Spain. Max Verstappen, known for his strong qualifying performances in Montreal, is ranked third, setting the stage for a thrilling battle for grid supremacy.
