F2: Lindblad in scintillating form as he takes maiden pole in Barcelona
In a commanding performance at Barcelona, Red Bull Junior Arvid Lindblad of Campos Racing secured his maiden Formula 2 pole position, showcasing exceptional pace throughout Friday's qualifying session. Lindblad initially set the benchmark with a 1m 25.493s lap, leading the field by over two-tenths of a second after the first round of flying laps. Despite a late challenge from PREMA Racing's Sebastián Montoya, who temporarily surged to P1 with a 1m 25.425s, Lindblad reclaimed the top spot with an even faster 1m 25.180s.
The final qualifying standings saw Montoya in second, followed by DAMS Lucas Oil's Kush Maini in third. Invicta Racing's Roman Stanek finished fourth, and McLaren Development Programme member Alexander Dunne of Rodin Motorsport rounded out the top five. MP Motorsport's Richard Verschoor, Aston Martin Development driver Jak Crawford (DAMS), Hitech TGR’s Luke Browning, AIX Racing’s Joshua Duerksen, and Invicta’s Leonardo Fornaroli completed the top 10. Notably, Fornaroli will start Saturday's Sprint Race from reverse grid pole position at 14:15 local time, setting the stage for an exciting race day.
