Pin capitalises on Race 1 chaos to seize Standings lead
Doriane Pin made history in Montreal, becoming the first-ever F1 ACADEMY winner at the Canadian Grand Prix after capitalizing on early race drama. Starting P3, the Mercedes driver surged to the front on Lap 2 following a collision between then-leader Chloe Chambers and Alisha Palmowski. Pin swiftly built a significant lead over Ella Lloyd, who climbed impressively from seventh to second.
Her commanding performance was briefly interrupted by a late Safety Car period when local Wild Card Mathilda Paatz crashed. However, Pin maintained her composure, ultimately crossing the line under a second Safety Car deployed after further incidents. This victory hands Pin a substantial 24-point lead in the Drivers' Standings. Lloyd secured P2, while Emma Felbermayr rounded out the podium with her first F1 ACADEMY top-three finish, marking a memorable race for the young talents.
