All the key highlights from the 2026 F1 calendar
Formula 1 has unveiled its ambitious 2026 calendar, featuring 24 Grands Prix, the debut of Cadillac as the 11th team, and significant regulatory overhauls including new aerodynamic rules and 100% sustainable fuels. The season kicks off in Melbourne, Australia, on March 6-8, reclaiming its position as the opener. This year's Australian GP set a new attendance record, signaling strong fan engagement.
Key changes include Canada's move to May, following Miami, to improve logistical efficiency and support F1's Net Zero Carbon initiative. Monaco will now open the European leg in June, part of a new six-year contract extension, forming a double-header with Barcelona. Madrid will make its highly anticipated debut in September, hosting the Spanish Grand Prix on a new street and purpose-built circuit, closing out the European season with Italy's Monza.
The latter part of the season will see a return to Asia for Azerbaijan and Singapore, followed by a triple-header in the Americas (Austin, Mexico City, Brazil). Las Vegas retains its penultimate slot, with the championship concluding in the Middle East with Qatar and the season finale in Abu Dhabi on December 6. These adjustments aim to optimize logistics, enhance geographical flow, and introduce exciting new venues to the F1 calendar.
