Felbermayr seizes maiden victory in Montreal Race 2
Emma Felbermayr clinched her maiden F1 Academy victory in a thrilling Race 2 in Montreal, making a decisive last-lap move to snatch the win. This triumph comes after a Race 1 disqualification due to an underweight car, making her redemption all the sweeter.
Felbermayr capitalized on a late Safety Car period, diving past long-time leader Nina Gademan on the final lap. Gademan, who had led from the opening lap after passing Chloe Chong, saw her lead evaporate in the closing moments.
The Safety Car was deployed with three laps remaining following contact between Hitech TGR teammates Nicole Havrda and Aiva Anagnostiadis. This incident bunched up the field and set the stage for Felbermayr's dramatic overtake.
Rodin Motorsport celebrated a dominant 1-2 finish, with Ella Lloyd fending off Doriane Pin to secure second place behind her victorious teammate. Pin ultimately finished fourth, while Alba Larsen impressed with a charge from 11th to fifth. Alisha Palmowski, Tina Hausmann, and Lia Block also secured points.
