How Sauber’s hard work on upgrades paid off in Spain
Kick Sauber implemented an aggressive development program for their C45 in Barcelona, introducing an all-new floor that significantly upgraded performance. This was evident in the race, where Nico Hulkenberg secured an official fifth place, crossing the line in sixth.
While the upgrade coincided with a new front wing Technical Directive, it was unrelated. Kick Sauber's Sporting Director, Inaki Rueda, clarified that the new floor was a direct response to a car limitation identified during the pre-season Bahrain test. This strategic enhancement highlights the team's commitment to continuous improvement, addressing specific weaknesses to maximize their competitive edge on the track.
