Perez begins Imola test for Cadillac in 2023-spec Ferrari

Sergio Perez has commenced a two-day test at Imola, driving a 2023-spec Ferrari, as he prepares for his Formula 1 return with the new Cadillac team next year. After a challenging exit from Red Bull, Perez took a year-long break before signing with Cadillac. As a new entrant, Cadillac lacks a Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) program, prompting an arrangement with engine supplier Ferrari for this test. The session aims to reacquaint Perez with F1 machinery, assess his fitness, and allow Cadillac's race team members to gain practical experience. Perez, who recently had a seat fit for Cadillac's 2026 car, will partner Valtteri Bottas at the American squad, bringing extensive experience to their debut F1 campaign.
