WATCH: Ride along with Piastri for the fastest Friday lap in Spain
Oscar Piastri delivered a strong performance in Friday's second practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix, topping the timesheets and further solidifying McLaren's impressive pace on the opening day. His McLaren teammate, Lando Norris, had set the fastest time in the earlier session, showcasing the team's promising form at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Piastri's fastest lap in FP2, a 1m 12.760s, was notably quicker than his closest competitors. He finished 0.286s ahead of Mercedes' George Russell, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Norris both registered identical times, placing them 0.310s behind Piastri in third and fourth respectively. This dominant display from McLaren suggests they could be strong contenders heading into the remainder of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend.
