HIGHLIGHTS: Relive the action from FP2 in Barcelona as Piastri heads the timesheets
McLaren continued to assert their strong form at the Spanish Grand Prix, with Oscar Piastri leading Free Practice 2, following Lando Norris’s top performance in Free Practice 1. Piastri's impressive lap in FP2 saw him finish a comfortable 0.286 seconds ahead of his closest competitor, George Russell of Mercedes. Russell, in turn, managed to outpace Max Verstappen’s Red Bull. Interestingly, Lando Norris, despite setting the exact same lap time as Verstappen, ended up in fourth position due to setting it later in the session.
The session proved more challenging for Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc securing fifth place, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton, a six-time winner at the Spanish Grand Prix, could only manage eleventh. The highlights from FP1 also underscored McLaren's strong start to the weekend. Overall, McLaren appears to have a competitive edge, but the midfield remains tightly contested, setting the stage for an exciting qualifying and race.
