Verstappen assesses Friday performance at the Madring

Max Verstappen and the Red Bull team enjoyed a productive Friday at the new Madring street circuit as they prepare for the Spanish Grand Prix. Verstappen, who finished P5 and P6 in the two sessions, noted that the team is still fine-tuning the car's setup, particularly regarding one-lap pace and long-run tyre management. He remains optimistic about finding more performance ahead of Saturday's qualifying. Meanwhile, substitute driver Liam Lawson continued to gather data for the team, finishing P10 in both sessions. Red Bull Technical Director Pierre Wache acknowledged that the circuit presents significant challenges, particularly its bumps and the technical demands of high-speed corners. However, the team remains confident in their competitive pace and tyre management strategy as they head into the rest of the weekend.
