Bearman and Ocon 'proud' as Haas mark 200th race in Canada
Haas is set to mark their 200th Grand Prix in Formula 1 this weekend in Canada, a significant milestone for the American outfit that debuted in 2016. To commemorate the occasion, the team will feature a special livery inspired by their original 2016 car design.
Since their impressive points-scoring debut in Australia, where Romain Grosjean secured P6, Haas has navigated a journey of highs and lows, with their best championship finish being fifth in 2018. Full-time driver Ollie Bearman, though only with the team for 10 races, expressed immense pride in their achievement, acknowledging the loyalty of long-serving members like Team Principal Ayao Komatsu. Esteban Ocon, while not debuting with Haas, also recalled Grosjean's iconic radio message from that first race.
Both Bearman and Ocon are eager for a strong performance in Montreal, especially after failing to score points in Spain. They recognize the fierce competition on the grid and the need for greater consistency, particularly on tracks less suited to their car's package. Bearman admitted that the Barcelona outing was challenging, highlighting the work still needed. As they celebrate this significant anniversary, the team hopes the special livery will bring them luck and a much-needed boost in performance.
