Kimi Antonelli secured his second consecutive pole position at the Japanese Grand Prix with a lap time of 1m 28.778s, outperforming Mercedes teammate George Russell by over two-tenths. Oscar Piastri took third for McLaren, followed by Charles Leclerc and the second McLaren of Lando Norris. Max Verstappen faced a surprising exit in Q2, qualifying only 11th after being pushed out by Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad. Other notable performances included Lewis Hamilton in sixth, followed by Pierre Gasly, Isack Hadjar, and Gabriel Bortoleto.
