What tyres will the teams and drivers at Zandvoort?
Pirelli has announced a softer tyre selection for the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix, aiming to encourage more dynamic two-stop strategies at Zandvoort. The C2 (hard), C3 (medium), and C4 (soft) compounds are a step softer than those used in 2024, a decision made in conjunction with the FIA to combat the prevalent one-stop strategy seen since 2022. Further enhancing this push, the pit lane speed limit has been increased from 60 to 80 km/h, reducing pit stop times.
However, simulations still indicate that a one-stop might remain the fastest option due to Zandvoort's notoriously difficult overtaking and narrow layout. The 4.259 km coastal circuit, known for its challenging banked corners and variable weather, demands high downforce and presents unique tyre management challenges for teams. This race also marks Pirelli's 500th World Championship round.
