Ford Hypercar engine ‘showing great promise’ as project enters ‘most consequential phase’

Ford’s Hypercar project has reached a major milestone as the Coyote V8 engine was successfully integrated into the ORECA chassis and fired up for the first time at the team's base in southern France. This successful integration represents the culmination of months of collaborative development between the powertrain and chassis teams, marking a critical transition from dyno testing to active vehicle development. Ford Racing’s Programme Manager, Sayers, confirmed that a comprehensive track testing schedule across Europe and the US is set to begin next month. The team will focus on reliability, aerodynamics, and hybrid system optimization, with feedback from drivers like Logan Sargeant and Mike Rockenfeller serving as a vital link between simulation data and real-world track performance.
