Antonelli beats Russell to Italian GP win with stunning comeback

Kimi Antonelli achieved a stunning victory at the Italian Grand Prix, fighting back from 19th on the grid to overtake Mercedes teammate George Russell in the closing stages. A strategic pit stop during a Virtual Safety Car period proved pivotal, allowing Antonelli to capitalize on fresher medium tyres compared to Russell's aging hard compound. While Russell settled for second, Max Verstappen rounded out the podium for Red Bull. Lando Norris edged out Oscar Piastri for fourth, while Lewis Hamilton finished sixth as Charles Leclerc suffered an early retirement after a heavy crash. The points were rounded out by Pierre Gasly, Arvid Lindblad, Franco Colapinto, and Yuki Tsunoda. Elsewhere, Audi drivers Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hulkenberg finished just outside the points, and Williams' Carlos Sainz took 13th. The race saw several retirements, including both Aston Martin drivers, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, following technical issues.
