Hamilton buoyed by ‘really fun’ Australian GP

Lewis Hamilton expressed significant positivity despite narrowly missing a podium finish, securing P4 at the Australian Grand Prix, just over half a second behind his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc. Starting from P7, Hamilton executed a strong start, elevating himself to third place early in the race. While Ferrari initially held strong positions by not pitting under Virtual Safety Cars, Mercedes’ strategic one-stop approach saw them leapfrog the Scuderia. Hamilton then mounted a determined chase of Leclerc in the closing stages, showcasing the car's strong performance. He lauded the "really fun race" and the car's feel, stating he wished the race had been longer, believing he could have claimed third with a few more laps. Hamilton acknowledged Ferrari's need to improve their power unit to challenge Mercedes but remained "really excited" for upcoming races, believing they maximized their result.
