What tyres will the teams have for the Hungarian GP?

Pirelli has announced the tyre selection for the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix, opting for the softest range: the C3, C4, and C5 compounds. This selection aims to navigate the tight, twisty nature of the Hungaroring, where traction and braking stability are paramount. Drivers will be provided with two sets of hards, three sets of mediums, and eight sets of softs. The choice of the softest compounds comes as the circuit requires maximum mechanical grip due to its low-grip surface and the need to handle frequent direction changes. Pirelli noted that high track temperatures and significant thermal degradation are expected, making the one-stop and two-stop strategies competitive. Furthermore, the circuit has seen recent infrastructure improvements, including resurfacing at Turns 1 and 12. Following the race weekend, Pirelli will conduct a two-day tyre development test in Budapest with Aston Martin, Audi, and Alpine.
