Williams recruit Piers Thynne from McLaren for leadership role
Williams has announced a major expansion of its senior leadership team with the appointment of Piers Thynne, formerly Chief Operating Officer at McLaren, as Chief Optimisation and Planning Officer starting in August. Thynne is expected to spearhead the modernization of the team's facilities by implementing AI, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
In addition to Thynne, the team has recruited several key figures from across the paddock, including Claire Simpson as Head of Aerodynamic Development, Fred Judd as Head of Performance Optimisation, and Steve Booth as Head of Vehicle Engineering. Team Principal James Vowles emphasized that these strategic hires are part of the team's long-term commitment to building the necessary infrastructure and talent to compete for World Championships.
