Hadjar explains struggles amid P16 finish in Canada
The Canadian Grand Prix proved to be a challenging affair for Racing Bulls, as both drivers struggled to find pace and ultimately finished outside the points. Isack Hadjar, who had a strong run of points finishes recently, saw his streak end with a P16 finish. Starting from P12 after a grid penalty, Hadjar's one-stop strategy was hampered by late pitting and significant graining on his tires, leaving him vulnerable to overtakes and stuck in a DRS train. He admitted to not being happy with the VCARB 02 car since the start of the weekend, struggling to maintain pace over a full race distance.
Liam Lawson's weekend was equally tough, culminating in his third DNF of the season. Starting from the pit lane due to parc ferme changes and a new power unit, Lawson was forced to retire on Lap 53 due to a cooling issue. He described the weekend as "tough" and acknowledged that while the car's pace was good in qualifying, race-day issues were largely out of their control. The team now faces the task of regrouping and analyzing their performance before the upcoming double-header in Austria and Great Britain.
