Briatore hints at Alpine’s plan to keep Colapinto into 2027

Flavio Briatore has lauded the progress of Alpine driver Franco Colapinto, noting significant improvements in his mental approach, technical skills, and team integration. Since his debut, Colapinto has grown substantially, recently securing a career-best sixth place at the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix. Briatore emphasized that the team is dedicated to supporting the young driver through the pressures of Formula 1. With Alpine currently leading the midfield, Briatore is open to the possibility of extending Colapinto's contract for 2027, provided he maintains his strong form and positive working relationship with teammate Pierre Gasly. A final decision is expected before the summer break.
