Norris set for grid penalty at Belgian GP

Lando Norris will face a 10-place grid penalty at this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix after McLaren opted to install a new power electronics unit in his car. The move is intended to resolve persistent reliability issues that have plagued the team throughout the season, causing Norris to miss the start in China and face complications in other races. McLaren explained that the decision stems from the need to integrate reliability upgrades introduced by Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains. The team deliberately chose Spa-Francorchamps for this penalty, citing the circuit's superior overtaking opportunities as the ideal environment to mitigate the impact compared to upcoming rounds in Hungary and Zandvoort. Norris, who currently sits fifth in the Drivers' standings with 97 points, will aim to use this refreshed component to boost his consistency for the remainder of the campaign.
