Piastri crashes out before Australian GP gets under way

Oscar Piastri's home Grand Prix in Australia ended in heartbreak before it even began, as the McLaren driver crashed his car on his way to the grid. During the pre-race reconnaissance laps, Piastri lost control of his McLaren at the exit of Turn 4, sending him into the concrete wall. The significant damage sustained to his car forced him to retire from the race, leaving him to watch the Australian Grand Prix from the sidelines, much to the disappointment of the local crowd.
