Russell trying to understand why Mercedes 'didn't feel the same'

George Russell suffered a heavy crash while leading the Sprint at the Singapore Grand Prix after hitting the kerb on the final corner of the opening lap. Although Mercedes managed to repair his car in time for Qualifying, Russell struggled for pace and could only manage the sixth-fastest time. Reflecting on the session, Russell noted that the car "didn't feel the same" compared to his strong performance on Friday. Having already faced a back-of-the-grid start due to an engine penalty, he remained pessimistic about charging through the field at Marina Bay compared to teammate Kimi Antonelli's recent recovery drives, though he still hopes to fight for a points finish.
