The Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage LMGT3 Evo secured a milestone victory at the 2026 Lone Star Le Mans, with drivers Ian James, Zacharie Robichon, and Mattia Drudi clinching the team's first LMGT3 win in two years. Dominating the race alongside their #23 teammates, the Aston Martin squad achieved a historic 1-3 finish at their home event. While Proton Competition's Ford Mustang GT3 Evos initially led, they fell back due to penalties and a collision. The #91 Manthey DKR Engineering Porsche also contended for the win until a penalty for leaving the track allowed the #27 Aston Martin to pull away. Despite a broken air conditioning system in his cockpit, Mattia Drudi delivered a brilliant performance in the final stints to maintain a gap over the Porsche, securing the victory. The championship standings saw a major shift as several title contenders struggled, while the #21 VISTA AF Corse Ferrari finished fourth to gain crucial points. The WEC action is set to resume with the 6 Hours of Fuji in late September.
