Hadjar rues ‘undriveable’ Red Bull in Austin

Red Bull's Isack Hadjar described his second practice session for the United States Grand Prix as a disaster, finishing P9 and 0.931s behind team mate Max Verstappen after struggling with severe tyre degradation and a lack of grip on the soft compound. Hadjar explained that set-up changes made between sessions caused his car's front tyres to overheat through the high-speed corners of Sector 1, making the RB22 nearly undriveable for the rest of the lap and leaving him slower on softs than on mediums. Red Bull Technical Director Pierre Wache confirmed the team took the wrong set-up direction with Hadjar's car and noted that COTA's bumps presented a tough challenge for the team as they focus on improving low-speed performance.
