IndyCar star Colton Herta signed to Cadillac as test driver

Cadillac F1 has announced IndyCar star Colton Herta as their test driver for the 2026 season, joining the previously confirmed main driver lineup of Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez. Herta, a 25-year-old American and the youngest ever IndyCar winner, brings nine victories and 16 pole positions from his 116 career starts. This role is a significant step towards his dream of racing in Formula 1, as he aims to help build a competitive team. Cadillac Team Principal Graeme Lowdon praised Herta's talent, speed, and maturity, highlighting the importance of an American driver for an American F1 team, and for American motorsport as a whole. Herta also has prior F1 testing experience with McLaren in 2022.
