Russell and Antonelli confirmed as 2026 Mercedes line-up

Mercedes has officially confirmed George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli as their Formula 1 driver line-up for the 2026 season, solidifying their future. Both drivers, products of the team's junior programme, have been pivotal in Mercedes' current second-place standing in the Constructors' Championship. Russell, with five Grand Prix wins including a recent victory in Singapore, has proven his caliber since joining in 2022. Rookie Antonelli, despite some challenges, impressed with a Miami Sprint pole and became F1's youngest podium finisher in Canada. Team boss Toto Wolff emphasized that securing this strong pairing was a priority. Their re-signing leaves four seats remaining on the 2026 grid, notably at Red Bull, Racing Bulls, and Alpine.
