Stella apologises to Norris and Piastri after double disqualification

McLaren faced a "disappointing" double disqualification from the Las Vegas Grand Prix, losing significant points after Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri's cars were found to have excessive skid block wear. Both drivers, who finished second and fourth respectively, were excluded because their skid blocks were below the minimum 9mm thickness. Team Principal Andrea Stella attributed the issue to unexpected, high levels of porpoising and accidental damage during the race, leading to increased ground contact. While acknowledging the breach was unintentional, McLaren apologized to their drivers and supporters, vowing to investigate the cause and remain focused on the season's remaining races. Norris confirmed managing the wear late in the race.
