Verstappen confirms he’s staying with Red Bull for 2026

Max Verstappen has put an end to months of intense speculation, confirming he will remain with Red Bull for the 2026 Formula 1 season. Ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix, the four-time reigning World Champion addressed widespread rumors linking him to a potential move to Mercedes. Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff had previously admitted to discussions with Verstappen, though he recently indicated a preference for his current driver lineup. Verstappen, 27, firmly dismissed suggestions of ongoing negotiations with Wolff, stating, "It's always been quite clear and also for next year. I'm discussing with the team already the plans, the things that we want to change next year so that means I'm also staying with the team for next year." He emphasized the need to "stop all the rumours," asserting his commitment to the Milton Keynes-based outfit.
