Hamilton grateful for Monaco podium in ‘hardest conditions’
Lewis Hamilton secured a hard-fought second place at the Monaco Grand Prix, equalling Ayrton Senna's record of eight podiums at the iconic circuit. Hamilton, driving for Ferrari, finished behind Mercedes race winner Kimi Antonelli, while a five-second pit lane penalty failed to derail his impressive drive.
Reflecting on the race, Hamilton acknowledged that Mercedes currently holds a performance advantage that Ferrari must work to overcome. Despite tyre degradation and overheating issues throughout the 78-lap race, Hamilton successfully navigated the tricky conditions to finish ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc and rise to second in the Drivers' standings.
