'A risk worth taking' – Hulkenberg reflects on Canada tyre gamble

Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto of Audi faced a difficult Canadian Grand Prix after a risky tyre strategy failed to pay off. The team chose intermediate tyres at the start due to rain, but as the track dried quickly, both drivers were forced to pit early and struggled to recover their positions, ultimately finishing outside the points. Reflecting on the race, Hulkenberg noted that while the risk was justifiable at the time, it put them on the back foot early on. Bortoleto, who also received a five-second penalty for a Virtual Safety Car infringement, emphasized that the experience provided the team with valuable data for future improvements as they continue their rookie season.
