Browning to drive for Williams in Monza FP1

Williams have announced that reserve driver Luke Browning will drive in FP1 at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix, replacing Alex Albon. This marks his second FP1 appearance of the 2026 season for the team. Browning, a member of the Williams Driver Academy since 2023, has balanced his reserve role with competing in Japan's Super Formula. His previous outing this year took place at the Red Bull Ring, where he finished in P18. The session is part of the mandated rookie running program, where every full-time driver must step aside for a rookie in two practice sessions per season. Expressing his enthusiasm for the opportunity, Browning noted that the session will be vital for gathering data and furthering his development in the FW48. He aims to support the Williams team’s progress, which has faced a challenging campaign this year, as they look for improvements at Monza.
