F2: Tsolov in control for Melbourne Feature Race victory
Nikola Tsolov secured his and Bulgaria's historic first FIA Formula 2 victory in the Melbourne Feature Race. Starting from fifth on the grid, the Red Bull Junior Team driver quickly advanced to third on the opening lap. He inherited the lead on Lap 3 following a collision between Rodin Motorsport teammates Martinius Stenshorne and Alex Dunne.
Tsolov initially managed a Safety Car restart but lost his advantage during the pit stop phase when Nico Varrone benefited from a perfectly timed second Safety Car period, putting the Van Amersfoort Racing driver in front. However, Tsolov executed a decisive dive down the inside at Turn 11 after the subsequent restart to reclaim the lead, which he then comfortably managed to the checkered flag. Invicta Racing's Rafael Camara finished second, while Laurens van Hoepen secured his maiden F2 podium in third for TRIDENT. Oliver Goethe, Ritomo Miyata, Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, Colton Herta, Gabriele Mini, Sebastian Montoya, and Joshua Duerksen completed the top 10.
