Formula 2 unveils new car for 2027 and beyond

Formula 2 has officially unveiled its new challenger for the 2027-2029 seasons at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. This new car is designed to bridge the gap to Formula 1, featuring updated aerodynamics with redesigned front and rear wings and a new on-board starter to improve race operations and safety. The new car retains the current Dallara chassis to manage costs while incorporating modern F1-inspired design elements. Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and F2 CEO Bruno Michel highlighted that the vehicle aims to provide a competitive, sustainable, and educational environment for the next generation of racing talent, ensuring that F2 remains the ultimate proving ground for aspiring F1 drivers.
