How Haas have utilised the ‘unique’ opportunity of the April break
Haas’ Head of Car Engineering, Hoagy Nidd, has provided an update on how the team is utilizing the unexpected five-week April break in the F1 calendar. Despite the pause, the smallest team on the grid has been working hard to capitalize on the time, focusing on car performance, reliability, and logistical planning for the remainder of the season.
Nidd highlighted that the team is prioritizing 'front-loading' performance updates to the car to maximize gains early in the season. While introducing updates during the upcoming Sprint weekends in Miami and Canada presents logistical challenges, the team is balancing these risks against the significant potential gains. Furthermore, the team has used this time for internal stock reviews, spare chassis assembly, and refining driver feedback systems to better support drivers Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon as they look to build on a strong championship start.
