Komatsu gives update on Haas' driver plans for 2027
Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu has stated that the team is in no rush to finalize its 2027 driver lineup, choosing instead to focus on supporting current drivers Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon. Despite a promising start to the season, Haas has struggled with development, failing to score points in the last six rounds and falling behind midfield rivals like Racing Bulls and Alpine.
Komatsu acknowledged the difficulty of the current development race, noting that as the smallest team on the grid, Haas faces significant challenges under the new regulations. He emphasized that there is no 'blame culture' within the squad and praised the team's ongoing collaborative efforts to identify and fix issues regarding car downforce and drivability.
While Bearman has outperformed Ocon in the standings, both drivers continue to have the team's full support. Komatsu remains confident that by fostering a better environment and maintaining steady development, the team can overcome its current performance deficit and return to competitiveness.
