Norris, Piastri and Fornaroli in action for McLaren at Portimao

McLaren took advantage of the pre-summer break period to conduct a Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) session at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal. Utilizing their 2023 challenger, the MCL60, the team completed valuable track time at a venue scheduled to return to the F1 calendar in 2027. Lando Norris completed 49 laps, while Oscar Piastri managed 55 laps during the outing. Joining them was F2 champion and McLaren Development Programme driver Leonardo Fornaroli, who logged 47 laps. The team highlighted that the session allowed Fornaroli to learn from the primary drivers' feedback processes while giving Norris and Piastri a chance to refamiliarize themselves with the Portuguese circuit. With this final run completed, McLaren joins other teams in entering the summer break. The F1 season is set to resume with the Dutch Grand Prix scheduled for August 21-23.
