Aron to drive in Silverstone FP1 as Alpine agree deal with Sauber

Alpine reserve driver Paul Aron is set to make his Formula 1 free practice debut, participating in two FP1 sessions with Kick Sauber this season. The 21-year-old Estonian, who finished third in last year's F2 Championship, will first take to the track at Silverstone this weekend, followed by another outing at the Hungaroring. This unusual agreement sees a driver from one F1 team loaned to a direct championship rival. Aron, primarily focused on simulator work for Alpine, will gain crucial track time, replacing Nico Hulkenberg. He is also slated for three further FP1 appearances with Alpine, marking significant steps towards his ultimate goal of a full-time F1 race seat.
