F2 champion Pourchaire joins Mercedes as Development Driver
Mercedes has announced the signing of 2023 Formula 2 champion Theo Pourchaire as a Development Driver ahead of the 2026 season. The talented French racer, who secured the F2 title with ART Grand Prix, brings a wealth of experience, including stints in IndyCar and endurance racing, as well as serving as a reserve for Sauber. Pourchaire expressed immense pride and gratitude for joining the Silver Arrows, a team he grew up watching achieve success in F1. This strategic move strengthens Mercedes' driver portfolio, adding a promising young talent to work alongside F1 regulars like George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, and third driver Fred Vesti. Pourchaire will also continue his commitment as a full-time Hypercar driver for Team Peugeot TotalEnergies in 2026.
