‘I didn’t get the result I deserved’ – Piastri on penalty
Oscar Piastri voiced strong disappointment over the 10-second time penalty he received during a tumultuous British Grand Prix, which he felt cost him a deserved victory.
The McLaren driver had brilliantly led the race through challenging wet-dry conditions before stewards penalized him for braking too late behind the Safety Car. This dropped him from a commanding first place to a still commendable second, allowing his teammate Lando Norris to clinch the win and reduce Piastri's championship lead to just eight points.
Despite his frustration with the decision, Piastri acknowledged the strong pace of his car, emphasizing that he did everything necessary on track.
