‘It’s been an honour’ says Horner after Red Bull exit
Christian Horner has announced his departure as Red Bull Racing's CEO and Team Principal, effective immediately.
After two decades at the helm, Horner expressed a "heavy heart" but immense pride in the team's journey and achievements. Starting in 2005 as F1's youngest team boss, he spearheaded Red Bull's transformation into a powerhouse, accumulating six Constructors' and eight Drivers' Championships.
His departure follows a managerial reshuffle, with Laurent Mekies stepping into his role. Horner's social media message thanked the "amazing people" at the factory, partners, and fans for their unwavering support, also acknowledging rivals for fostering competition. He departs proud of Red Bull's legacy and future prospects.
