Why Active Aero will not be used at the Monaco Grand Prix
F1.com reports that Active Aero will be disabled for the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend due to safety concerns. The system, which adjusts wing angles for straight-line speed or cornering grip, will be locked in maximum downforce mode for the entire circuit to navigate the track's tight and twisty nature.
While Active Aero is paused, the Overtake Mode remains active, allowing drivers to utilize extra electrical energy. The FIA has implemented safety measures, including a 'Rev 1' engine map to limit MGU-K power output starting at 200 km/h, ensuring speeds remain controlled on the narrow street circuit.
