Agreement reached on proposed F1 regulatory changes

The FIA, Formula One Management, and teams have agreed on a comprehensive package of changes for the 2027 and 2028 F1 regulations. These amendments follow extensive discussions regarding energy management concerns that emerged after the start of the 2026 season. The new regulations aim to improve energy management and fuel flow, ensuring a flat-out racing experience during qualifying without compromising the sport's competitive nature. The update introduces a balanced transition for the Internal Combustion Engine and the Energy Recovery System over the next two years. The FIA plans to fast-track the formal approval process, with the final submission to the World Motor Sport Council scheduled for June 23 in Macau to ensure all stakeholders have sufficient time to prepare.
