How improving Hadjar is learning from Verstappen
Isack Hadjar delivered one of his most impressive performances of the 2026 season at Silverstone, despite suffering from significant front wing damage. After qualifying in P5, ahead of teammate Max Verstappen, Hadjar maintained a competitive pace early on before a performance drop-off hindered his race. The team discovered the damage during his second pit stop, and once the wing was replaced, his lap times improved by nearly two seconds. Hadjar expressed frustration, believing a podium finish could have been possible without the mechanical setback and the decision not to restart the race after the Safety Car period.
Red Bull Team Principal Laurent Mekies praised the Frenchman's consistent progress throughout the season. Mekies highlighted that while both drivers are experiencing similar balance issues with the car, Hadjar is steadily gaining experience and learning effectively from Verstappen. Despite the disappointment at Silverstone, the team remains encouraged by Hadjar's development and his ability to improve his skills race by race.
