Listen to F1 Nation's Barcelona-Catalunya GP review
Lewis Hamilton secured an emotional victory for Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, ending Kimi Antonelli’s winning streak and intensifying the title race. Hamilton dominated the latter stages, finishing nearly 20 seconds ahead of the field, while Antonelli was forced to retire due to a power unit issue.
The race featured a historic all-British podium with George Russell in second and Lando Norris in third. Charles Leclerc also suffered a retirement due to a suspected hydraulics failure. Hamilton’s victory was bolstered by a timely Virtual Safety Car, though his superior pace in the final stint suggested he was the fastest man on track regardless.
Elsewhere, Alpine and Racing Bulls enjoyed strong points finishes, while Audi faced disappointment as Nico Hulkenberg retired from a points-paying position. It was a difficult weekend for the local favorites, with Fernando Alonso retiring and Carlos Sainz finishing outside the points for Williams. The paddock now prepares for upcoming rounds in Austria and Great Britain as Ferrari gains momentum.
