Stella backs up comments on Verstappen’s title chances

McLaren boss Andrea Stella firmly believes Max Verstappen is a serious contender for the Drivers' Championship after his recent back-to-back victories in Monza and Baku. Stella noted Red Bull's improved car performance, making it crucial for McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris to avoid errors. Following a challenging Azerbaijan Grand Prix for McLaren, where Piastri crashed and Norris struggled, Stella highlighted Verstappen's reduced points gap to championship leader Piastri (now 69 points). He emphasized that in F1, especially at the top, teams cannot afford mistakes as competitors like Red Bull are always ready to capitalize. McLaren aims to bounce back strongly in Singapore.
