Steve Nielsen announced as Alpine Managing Director

Alpine has announced significant leadership changes, appointing veteran F1 figure Steve Nielsen as their new Managing Director. Nielsen, a highly respected paddock presence, departs his role as F1's Chief Motorsports Operations Officer to return to Enstone, where he previously served during Benetton, Renault, and Lotus eras, including their 2005-2006 championship wins. Reporting directly to executive advisor Flavio Briatore, Nielsen will oversee the team's daily operations, with his tenure commencing September 1st. This crucial appointment follows the earlier departure of Team Principal Oli Oakes. Further strengthening their technical ranks, Alpine also confirmed Kris Midgley's arrival as Head of Aerodynamic Development. These strategic moves underscore Alpine's determined effort to reverse their fortunes, currently sitting at the bottom of the Constructors' Championship, ahead of their planned switch to Mercedes power next season.
