What F1 drivers have been up to before Austria
As Formula 1 heads to the Austrian Grand Prix, drivers have used the brief break between races to recharge and participate in various activities. McLaren celebrated their 1000th Grand Prix milestone at Woking, featuring Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri unveiling a new statue of Mika Hakkinen. Meanwhile, Yuki Tsunoda and Zhou Guanyu kept sharp by completing crucial tyre testing laps in Barcelona.
Off the track, Carlos Sainz announced a dedicated grandstand for his home race in Madrid, while Valtteri Bottas and Arvid Lindblad celebrated Midsummer in their respective homelands. Other drivers stayed busy, with Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto keeping up with the World Cup, and Ollie Bearman experiencing the thrill of driving Ayrton Senna’s iconic 1985 Lotus 97T at Silverstone.
